Fraternal Order of Eagles #606

Former wish kid Ken Stivason helped to organize the annual Fraternal Order of Eagles #606 Poker Run in Ford City, PA, on August 15, 2009. In 1992, Ken Stivason, who is now treasurer of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #606, met the St. Louis Cardinals at spring training camp in Florida. A participant takes his chances at the poker run stop at the Ford City Eagles Lodge in Verona, PA. The motorcyclists race off to their next poker run destination. Sadly, wish kid Kenneth W. Stivason, 33, a former wish kid, passed away suddenly on Monday, November 16, 2009. Ken was the treasurer of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles #606 in Ford City, and he decorated this Christmas tree in Make-A-Wish cutout stars, topped with a Stella! plush. The $376 raised was given to the Foundation in memory of Ken. In honor of Ken Stivason, the members of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles sold shamrocks for $1 and started a new tradition -- a St. Patrick's Day tree!
The Fraternal Order of the Eagles will now be having a tree for every holiday in memory of Ken. The organization sold bunny ear ornaments in celebration of Easter. The Fraternal Order of the Eagles hope to raise one wish - $3,400 -- through fundraisers like this Memorial Day tree and their annual motorcycle run.
