'One of the Best Days of My Life'
Isaac's Shopping Spree Wish was a True Dream-Come-True
At exactly 6:30 a.m. one winter morning, 11-year-old Isaac excitedly awoke. This day was unlike any other. He immediately sent a text to his dad that said, "Are you up yet? Today's my wish day!" On this day, there would be no harsh reminders of the illness he was facing and no treatments, just full speed ahead F-U-N! This was the day Isaac's wish of a shopping spree would be granted. Not only did Isaac want a shopping spree, but he wanted the City of Erie to know his story. As he ate his breakfast to prepare him for the fun day ahead, he was shown that his story had made it to the last page of the local section in the Erie Times News. This was one of many surprises that day. 
Isaac was picked up in a limo and driven to his first stop, Best Buy. Just when everyone thought his smile couldn't grow any bigger, he was greeted by a reporter and camera man from WICU-TV! They followed him around throughout the store as he chose his "electronic goodies." Isaac was certainly not shy as he gave an interview about his wish. He had a blast being driven around in a limo and shopping all day at his favorite stores.
He looked at his Make-A-Wish® team and reported, "This is one of the best days of my life!" It was hard to believe that this very special little boy was suffering from leukemia. There were so many kind people who helped make his day special from the limo driver to the personal shoppers. Each person who had helped make Isaac's day was left touched for life by his spirit.
Isaac clearly didn't let his illness stop him from having an absolute blast on "his" big day. The day ended with a wonderful steak dinner at his favorite restaurant, Texas Road House. He was able to pick his very own steak and the entire restaurant welcomed him with a very loud Texas "Yeehaw"!
Dinner was great, but you could tell Isaac had all of his awesome "toys" on his mind. He was eager 
to get home to setup his surround sound speaker system, one of the many items he had purchased. Isaac certainly did not forget his manners as he thanked everyone who helped make his day extra special. Isaac is one very special little man who was able to escape his illness for at least one day; one day that will go down in the books as one of the very "best days of his life!"
Wishes are made possible with the help of donors and fundraisers. Isaac knows his wish was granted by GE and wishes to thank all of those who donated to make this day one of the most memorable days of his life.
