Monique's Shopping Extravaganza
Reading Wish Kid Visits Her Favorite Stores
Monique, a 14-year-old girl from Reading, PA, diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, is a sports enthusiast who proudly cheers on the New York Yankees and Mets. In her spare time, she enjoys reading books and watching movies like Dear John. She never misses an episode of the television show America's Best Dance Crew. When she has some free time, Monique enjoys munching on Chinese food and listens to Christian and Reggae music. Even though Monique has many different interests, she knew exactly what she wanted for her wish -- a shopping spree!
The morning of her wish, Monique was picked up by a limousine to take 
her to Lehigh Valley Mall. Monique arrived at Best Buy to begin her shopping extravaganza. She shopped for electronics and left with an iPod, speakers, video games, a Nintendo DSI game system and much more. She then moved on to some of her favorite clothing boutiques for a few new outfits. Of course, she shopped for accessories and shoes afterwards! Finally, she made a stop at Build-A-Bear Workshop where she created her own panda bear and bunny stuffed animals. After hours of shopping, Monique enjoyed a meal at Red Lobster with her volunteers and mother.
After an exhausting day of shopping, Monique packed her new things into the limo. Once she was home, she could not wait to get everything out of the bags so she could enjoy all the new things she brought home with her!
